Getting to Know…Lori C. Slough

What would surprise us to know about you?
Well, do not let the blonde hair fool you; many people are surprised to learn I am a political scientist and avidly study politics (international and domestic) including various forms of government and political philosophies. I am also an animal rights advocate. I am very concerned about the prevention of cruelty to animals—God’s beautiful creations.

What is your favorite Scripture?
Proverbs; “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

What is your favorite hymn?
My favorite song is “Our God is an Awesome God,” by the late Rich Mullins.

At what age did you accept Christ as your Savior?
Since the Scripture states we are married to Christ, I count the years since my commitment, just as married couples count their years together. I am thankful to say I have been a Christian for 22 years.

Where were you raised?
I am a proud Southerner and North Carolina girl. I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1988.
