A Community Christmas Celebration

The annual Central Florida Christmas Celebration kicks off a week of family Christmas festivities Saturday, December 9th from 8am to 4pm with a community festival and family fun day that will include a health fair, kids’ fun zone, free car wash, and a garage and bake sale.

Now in its fourth year, the Central Florida Christmas Celebration is quickly becoming one of Central Florida’s largest family holiday outing opportunities. The Celebration begins each year with the Community Festival in early December and culminates with the main event - five performances of “Christmas in the Movies,” an original, live musical theater production taking place Thursday December 14th through Sunday the 17th at Orlando Baptist Church, 500 S. Semoran Blvd. “Christmas In The Movies” takes a nostalgic journey through holiday movie classics, using powerful drama and music with a cast of over 50, choirs of all ages, and a forty-piece orchestra. Admission to all of the events is free.

New to this year’s celebration is a partnership with the Children’s Home Society of Florida. Attendees are encouraged to bring a toy or clothing donation to benefit the abused and abandoned children being served by this organization. Each Christmas, the CHS annual toy drive provides over nine thousand toys to children living in its two emergency shelters, foster care and adoptive homes.
