Getting to Know…Rich Bradley
Vice President, BVC Sports
The new Orlando MISL team

What individuals have influenced you most and how?
My Aunt Kaye was only 11 years older than me and first taught me about Jesus. Ironically her death to cancer at age 37 pushed me away from the church for a bit. I always knew that her mother, my grandmother, loved me every single day. She still makes me laugh when we talk, and she taught me to both respect and enjoy life.
The person who moved mountains in my life was Adam Hamilton, Senior Pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. He is the most spiritually gifted person I’ve ever met, and his trusting, loving, down-to-earth interpretations and explanations of the Word continue to fill in a lot of the blanks for me.

What would surprise us to know about you?
I’ve raised my kids as a single parent since they were 4, 5, 7 and 8.

What is your favorite food?
I just know God rested on the 7th day with a big ole bowl of popcorn.

What was the best book you have read (other than the Bible) - what book would you recommend?
I don’t know a more relevant, easy to read and understand book than the Purpose Driven Life. I’ve read it every year for the past five years. It centers me.

What hidden talent do you have?
My kids brag about my cooking…who knew?

At what age did you trust Christ as your Savior?
This is so hard to answer, because it came in waves. It really took hold when at the age of 37 my paradigm of God fully shifted from the image of the punishing God of the Old Testament to the loving Creator and Savior of the New Testament. Since then my prayers always close restating my love for Him.

What is your favorite sports team?
Pirates (MLB), Steelers (NFL), Magic (NBA), and the new Orlando MISL team.
